Desktop App
Windows app with offline support and full feature parity
S3Suite is available as a Windows desktop application that gives you the full S3Suite experience in a native window - with the added benefit of offline support.
Installation
- Download the S3Suite desktop app from your organization's distribution link
- Run the installer
- Launch S3Suite from your Start menu or desktop shortcut
Same Features as the Web App
The desktop app is not a stripped-down version. It includes every feature available in the web app:
- Engineering Suite (files, firmware, BOM, testing)
- Manufacturing Suite (variants, lots, devices, vendor dispatch)
- Operations Suite (health dashboard, warranty, RMA, firmware updates)
- AI Assistant
- Knowledge Base and Diary
- Support and Ticketing
Offline Support
The desktop app's standout feature is offline mode. You can keep working even without an internet connection.
How it works
- S3Suite caches your data locally on your computer
- When you lose connectivity, you can still browse projects, view files, and make changes
- Changes you make offline are saved as pending changes
- When your connection returns, pending changes sync automatically
Offline Indicator
When you are offline, a visual indicator appears in the header bar so you always know your current status:
- Online - Normal operation, all changes sync immediately
- Offline - Cached mode, changes are queued
Pending Changes Counter
While offline, a counter shows how many changes are waiting to sync. This gives you visibility into what will be pushed to the server when you reconnect.
Tip: Before going to a location with poor connectivity (factory floor, test lab, field visit), open the projects you will need. The desktop app caches what you have viewed, so those projects will be available offline.
Note: Some features that require a live server connection (AI assistant, sending emails to vendors) will show as unavailable while offline. They resume automatically when you reconnect.
